$100K reward in 2013 murder of Md. letter carrier

CHEVERLY, Md. (WUSA9) — Solving the 2013 murder of the Md. letter carrier, Tyson Jerome Barnette is still a top priority, according to a spokesperson for the Postal Inspection Service.

The letter carrier was shot and killed on November 23, 2013, officials said. Barnette was delivering mail at night in Cheverly, Md. when he was murdered.

The Postal Inspection Service has discovered new information in the case, however additional information is still needed, the spokesperson for the Postal Inspection Service said.

The Postal Service is offering a $100,000 dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest. In addition, Prince George’s County Crime Solvers offers a $25,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
